Memories of Uni!
just found my dissertation from 1996! titled:
"An investigation into how derogatory language is a major influence on the subordination of women, by their male counterparts"
Introduction pages 2-5
Chapter One: "Women's rights, and the woman word, female, feminine, and feminist origins!" pages 6-16
Chapter Two: " Women in literature and fictional heroines; Charlotte Bronte's use of the pseudonym, and Jane Eyre's experience of survival in a man's world" pages 17-22
Chapter Three: "An examination into words and quotations used in a derogatory way by men, against women" pages 23-27
Conclusion: pages 28-29
Bibliography: pages 30-31
it's a bit naive, but it was done pre-internet, so all sources, and research came from books in libraries! after 3 years of assignments, which i was okayish with, and exams, which i was shit at, the dissertation was the one thing i dreaded, but in the end, was the one thing i really enjoyed, and it saved my bacon, so managed to squeeze a third class joint hons in Eng Lit, and History. would i want to do another, i'd rather run through the snow naked, declaring my love for rice pudding! (i hate rice pudding!) xx🙂
