Whatever abstinence from alcohol and caffeine is doing physically is great. It’s upping your painting game as well. Great piece. Quite different from the others. Really expresses some pent up beauty not otherwise able to birth.

There's a basketball phrase that holds through in art and writing for me.  The phrase goes, "let the game come to you"
I now take more time when painting, sitting with the results and waiting to add or not add.  In the old days I just blasted them out. Sometimes that still works but the contemplative aspect of painting sometimes is more exciting than the painting itself.  Mixed bag from this dinosaur.....

I like the contemporary / modern (if I'm using the terms correctly) feel to this. I'm addicted to caffeine as well and it's hard to give up, but the mind does seem to be able to take another path.
