half naked

i've been undressed and i've
torn off my own clothes with
disdain
pulsing through my temples
and he seeks this out:
undressing me

i must have let him too near
and must have been distracted
and i think
he may have started
with my skin
because i've been using
cover-up
trying hard to hide my inside

from there he spread
feelings throughout
the bloodstream like a virus
a cancer
something to take me down
and i'm sure that
they don't make medication
for this

he took down the walls
that told me they were strong
and tall
and wouldn't let anyone in again
with ease
he might have stolen my lips
while he was at it
but i haven't bothered to check

i'm too busy
looking for a last defense
something to drape over
myself
so i can leave
at least half naked
appearing that i've come out
with more
than i've lost
