Image for the poem I Still Blush

I Still Blush

I still blush
remembering the
last time we made love.
I played my part so earnestly
 in hopes of keeping you.
Were I woman enough,
I’d turn your tide of lust
to my favor, or so I thought.

The photo on your phone
answered my questions
the next morning.

Author's Note
I still blush every time I think of how hard I tried to save our marriage until I found this photo of her on his phone. She was my husband's coworker and sat in the apartment she shared with her husband. I edited to protect her identity.
