Increments of Distance
The place where
we kissed - beneath
stars, is confronted
in congregations
of waves - which
worship in
temples of furies:
invigorated or
infuriated by
something sensed -
unseen in
scriptures of
the primitive.
O how this
longing aches
in seminal
memories,
in the hole in
my heart, mimicked
by extensions
of currents,
taking pieces
of me
out to see
serenity -
structured
in increments
of
distance.

Beautifully rendered, leaving such a tender essence of longing from the across the miles... distance, but a mere leap and cherished memory, valued like breath itself.

Mouth agape. Gasping for breath. Heart a pounding. Yes, it might sound like I need medical attention. It’s actually my response to your poem.
