Whoopsie

She had invited a friend over
for drinks and conversation.

Friend arrives and plops
down on her chair causing
the chair to hit the wall
and subsequently breaking
the glass on her prized
John Coltrane poster.
Not only was the glass broken
but the poster was now ripped.

She tried to remain calm.
Told her friend it was okay
and not a big deal.

Then she snapped and grabbed
a piece of glass and started stabbing
her friend. She continued until her
art filled walls were covered in blood.

She sat down.
Drank some wine.
She pondered why she reacted
so harshly. It was only a poster.
That was a person. A friend no less.

Then she wondered who would plop
down on furniture like that?
Uncultured swine, of course.
She no longer felt bad.

Her poster was restored.
The friend, never resurfaced.
