you would be his tragedy      
      
Mozart and Beethoven      
you would be their symphony      
      
Galileo would gaze into the stars      
and give a planet your name      
      
Christopher Columbus      
would sail the ocean blue      
      
and Neil Armstrong      
would fly you to the moon      
      
while Hemingway writes      
a bestseller  
all about you      
      
The Great Houdini      
would chain himself up      
and face certain death      
for you      
      
Babe Ruth would hit home runs      
and Evil Knievel would      
jump the      
Grand Canyon      
      
Alexander the Great      
would conquer empires      
for your love      
      
and Michelangelo would make you      
his masterpiece,      
while      
Vincent Van Gogh      
would cut his ear off...
just for you    
    

But alas my dear      
they are all gone,      
while I am here      
and all i can do        
is write this poem...
