Silence

If only I could drown all the noise all the time
maybe then will clearer pictures be drawn

if only I could concentrate on the beats of my heart
I could slow it down whenever the coffee hits and I see you smile…
just that image I saved in my head is enough

If only I could spell love in pints of blood
or the veins under my skin could form the alliance to help grow the army needed to fight off all the…

Silence

I wonder if sounds ever stop
Like how you die when you hold your breath

if only I could stop time, like when the words were first spoken and frames froze
and all I could remember is

I love you more than any word can describe

If only love could heal you,
I'm sure you would never be sick!

Author's Note
Silence is written about the moment when I felt tears flowing over my skin hoping to keep faith alive. It is when I knew love existed inside of me and that I would never die, because love remains.

This poem finally finalized on the day 4 years ago I published my first poetry book, Love Affair, in 2018.
