Innocent But Guilty

So down the road
I go
feet of a clown
and out of joint nose ,
you put me down
then left this town ,
the square peg dowel
quite rare , not round
it couldn't fit , is what I found
as it did split , you made no sound .

I had no knowledge
as you tried to dig up dirt on me ,
behind my back you forridged
for things that just couldn't be ,
only weeks after marriage
you turned your personality ,
into a paranoid wreckage
but still you failed to inform me .

Phone calls
made too late
feeling small
and slammed gates
confessions from
a guilty face
you were wrong
after months of hate ,
still you sing that song
will you ever abeit .
