Crossing the Threshold of Intimacy

“Crossing The Threshold of Intimacy”

I want to fly, but I want to stay
In this cage that I wrap around my wings each day.
You feel like you’re a million miles away.
I don’t WANT to kiss you…
I NEED to…
I once let you split my heart in twain,
Now I’m begging you to do it again.
I want to reach, but I know I should not touch,
But I just love this pain so much.

Crossing the threshold of intimacy,
Is such delicate lunacy:
Trying to make sense of my need for you,
While knowing not a word you say is true.
I know I am a fool. I know you are going to break me,
But in this moment, I’m begging you to take me
Into that familiar Heaven. Back into the rotted space I know
Into a harmonious sorrow…
The pandemonious kiss of chaotic bliss.

There is a wide world of others out there…
But I don’t care.
What matters is that you’ll be in THIS world to make it go away.
And when you tell me I must die for you, I will obey.
We’ll talk about where you have not been…
You’ll lie as you lied before; again, and again.
I’ll see through it, but I will beg to listen
As though its me who needs to be forgiven.

When you cross the threshold
Of other worlds, so cold
I will be your spring.
And when I do the same
In none other than love’s name
You will be my suffering.
I know it isn’t true. I know this is a mistake
But it is MINE to make.
Perhaps I deserve better,
But I don’t want better…
For in you, I see the luster
Of a sun waiting to blossom
Upon everything we may become.
If I just do better. If I just try better
We will rise with that sun together.
