worthless

 
desolation of the soul
happens over time
injecting of sorrow
then a bitter vine
 
escapism ensues but with nowhere to go
a listless battle for truth
with fervent hope of delivery
but the unseen takes more than it gives
knowledge is at a premium  
 
inside the eternal storm...a struggle
justice must prevail
or will it?
little deaths are so much worse than finality
grim are the hopes of the faithful
 
tender honesty is sipped like the finest wine
denied any shelter
the copeless withers
 
dining on scraps gathered by the wayside
she is starved for affection
feeling worthless
