Unfinished Painting on the Wall

I fell for you the moment I saw your exquisite lines
Accentuated by your delectable curves
Your colors were extraordinarily divine
I know I was getting on your nerves

I should of asked but I need to paint the things that I love
I capture their every detail, whether big or small
But I could not quite grasp your image, not at all
So your just another unfinished painting on my wall

No bull, I got a gallery full

You never got to know me, you told me
You just fell in love with an image that you stole
As a person I was shallow
You said as an artist my paintings lacked soul

You told me if I ever grew maybe we could try
You left me to my own, and all I could do was cry

So I put up my brushes, my easel and my paints
Then I searched inside myself all through the night
I tried to argue with your logic, and I put up a fight
And I came to the conclusion you were probably right

I looked in the mirror I had hung in the hall
And there it was
Just another unfinished painting on the wall
I'm just an unfinished painting on the wall
Another unfinished painting on the wall
Unfinished painting on the wall

Author's Note
My sister gave me the concept of an unfinished painting on the wall. Since all my demons are pretty much harnessed, or ignored, I put myself in the artist's position. I put myself in his shoes. I do that a lot.
