Motorcycles & Mermaids

I feel it in the water
waking my slumber
the vibration incantation
that of my lover

and his Harley

revving his throttle
upon my water rooftop door
my sonar invitation
that’s headed toward the shore

Time to ride

quickly reaching for
my starfish hairclips
drawn into the current I slide
ready for my road trip

Breaching the surface

waving a wink with my tides
I know he sees me
racing towards him
glistening with pastel moonlight

can’t wait to meet him
and his tequila shot kiss
goes perfect with
my salt sprinkled lips

every time I hear him
playing his Harley serenade
I realize nothing is better
than Motorcycles & Mermaids

Author's Note
I miss riding:) Not on the interstate. I don't have a death wish. But on the backroad just taking a cruise.
