Corrupting The Night

During corrupted nights I barely sense
The fantasy of how you held me when
You grabbed me by the wrist. Outside a dense
Descent of rain ensured that gentlemen
Stood back to let us pass the threshold, where
You held me forever. When we both kissed,
Before their jealous eyes, their startled air
Meant we just had to dance free. Who'd resist
The hands that so possess me? Privacy
Can never be afforded. Let a tide
Of disapproval wash intimacy
Into delighted dance steps. Who'd abide
By strictures life imposes? You excite
Freedom from etiquette: corrupting night.
