The elevation of letting all the junk go that weighs us down must feel so freeing. As I work to acquire the gifts of being happy joyous and free I’m afraid I still get stuck in some of the mire. I really enjoyed this poem. I think as a song it will be resounding and continue to be very relatable. H🌷

Your support as well as your insight is greatly appreciated ☺️ I know what it's like to be stuck in the mire (I'm there more often than not), but every day I strive to let God pull me out. Relying on Him can be difficult (sometimes I like thinking I'm in control), but as you said, it's something to work towards.

I'm always telling people to enjoy their differences, they're what make us special. You came at it from a different angle. Like this a lot. Awesome write.

I'm glad you enjoyed the piece. Peoples' differences can be quite beautiful. That being said, as an alcoholic, my differences almost killed me. I thought I was unique when I came into the rooms of AA, and all it did was keep me in a perpetual cycle of relapse. If I had only looked for the similarities rather than the differences, I would have realized each one of them was telling my story. Interesting tidbit of knowledge: the title for this song comes from the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. For after all, everything in this World is borrowed 😊
