Your Gods Are Feral

You pray to the unknown, knowing that beliefs are blind
Or mayhap you think, that your souls are a special kind
Uttering sanctimonious words, to try and keep you safe
Repelling the reality of darkness, the true realm of faith
Gods may listen, somewhere within, to you one and all
Only if you are on your knees though, before you crawl
Devil's in the detail, but your spectral deities, like a trier
Some say, Heaven is a myth, for there's nothing higher
And as you patiently await to be raised, up to that level
Remember all your dark days and remember, the Devil
Earth as it is in Heaven, but it's nowhere you can dwell
For the gods you adore, have cast a mischievous spell
Evil preys on your dead world, it's forever there in man
Ravaging, your mortal coil, from when your time began
And those prayers, to the ether, will not ease your peril
Lucifer has always known, his own, your gods are feral
