hand in the dark
You told me I was a bad bitch
offered me a bear hug
and couldn't know how perfect
your words hit my heart
There's a darkness lingering inside
and I fear to sleep
for fear of drowning in the dark
when no one is watching
Sometimes I forgot
that I am loved
In my darkest moments
the weakness in me
wants to let go of the life raft
because I've lost the thread
of whatever life
I was meant to be holding onto
because surely it's not this one
where fear and panic
threaten to break me open
in the ever present silence
that seems to punctuate my days

when no one is watching....
Even when we hide in the darkest corner, there is always one watching us. Ourselves.
We can doubt that, but reality doesn't mind. Unconditionality is just that. Under all conditions. All. Love is doubt's wet blanket. That's like a double negative.... always loved.
