Closing the Books

the books are closed
neat on the shelf
in my thoughts

I turned away for a while
abstained from scratching out
the lingering pain
on shifting sand

time ran away
new year passed
and left behind screaming darkness
and the pages flipped
to the end

my heart is trapped
within the pages
grief spelled in alphabets
immortalisation of regrets and sorrow

the chains are linked
as roses going ring-a-ling
it's done
the books are closed.

I am so sorry You've gone thru such a rough patch Grace.
Continue to strengthen.
When time/body/ mind allows, plz tell me the tale.
How cumbersome and taxing ailments of any kind hit us.
I'm just sorry it hit so hard.

I miss you.
