The unbearable lightness of being

looking back
over the shoulder
of time
reflective moments
step into the light

so you dust
them off
and amplify all
the old voices
as they continue
to find ways
into your life

here you sit
submerged
in memories
that have resurfaced
without warning

here you sit
cornered
by the ambiguity
of this self
that hides amid
the ticking hands
of time

here you sit
trapped
in this vicious
circle of repetition
and boredom
