Image for the poem stare

cut the static with a marshmallow haze
the glare is too real
I seek asylum from the boogeyman
who sits playing Pinochle
pretending he isn't really interested in what I'm doing

I duck out quickly
disappear in front of him
it's a trick leaving a blow up doll for him to stare at
then operate in another dimension

bait and switch my sister and brothers
diverting his attention
I take a hit but it's not deadly
a small casualty it's a small price to pay for freedom

shucks, I wonder if he's kidding
silently I ride the bars and keys
onto my next destination

peace out, stay safe and all that Rigor mortis
