My Little Deep Sea

In my dreams
the waves of the ocean lap to brush the cheek of the bank,
in my arms like growing tides, I'll draw you in and pull you out to sea with me.
And over the deep deep blue we go, rocking with the waves and swirling with the wind,
living with the ocean, among the wriggling fractures of moonlight that dance upon its surface.
Mystical streaks that breathe alive and moving, inhaling the darkness.
Glowing, as these little creatures skim upon the ripples and waves, sandwiched between the endless black below and the open-mouthed void gaping above –
splattered as a canvas with pinholes poked to the eternal light that exists behind the fabric of the sky.
Hear my siren love song through my eyes when I look at you, with my own shame in what I feel as heat that stubbornly clings to my face; until that which burns and flutters in my chest inevitably explodes, overflowing with the drum of my heartbeat, hot blood like larva,
flooding like a red salt sea to sail away on.
Hand in hand, on my little deep sea, I’ll hold you and take the cold of the ocean, I’ll give you my warmth. There we’ll float away, nested in the rips and streams, between the shipwrecks and the glaciers, among the unknown below and the ecosystems that have cycled longer than my atoms have been drawn together, the ins and outs, the ups and downs of life that bobs as if floating on the waves.
And what a dream it is,
in which I send myself off to sleep with.
A sweet desire bittered by shame, and by those above, and by its own fruitlessness.
Now,
in my dreams
I am inhaling the salt of the water until I can’t speak, can’t breathe, can’t think,
until I’m no longer aware of my own existence and wash away to the distance to erode against the rocks,
forgetting who I am, forgetting who you are.
To drift and dissolve into a blurred fragment of the moon’s reflection,
softly cast in the eye of no one, perceived by none,
and unconscious in the night on my little deep sea.

Author's Note
Bit longer and less structure to this one lol. Anyone else just want to fade out of existence and away from the perception of others sometimes lmao??
