Positive thinking ( to me ) is not suppressing how I feel, but facing the reason behind how I feel. Positive thinking is great but can also be a Band-Aid to the root cause of them. Same as alcohol or drugs covers them temporarily, only for them to return in a vengeance once the Band-Aid falls off and the scab is knocked off the wound. Get to the roots and solve the cause.
