Can’t You Hear Me?
My lips move
I hear the sounds depart
Yet nobody seems to listen
The meaning of those sentences
Diffuses in the din
Lost to the cacophony of sound
Childish intention
Erases my direction
Masculine determination
Ignores my statements
I am nothing
My voice is stolen
By the overriding ego
That surrounds me
In the cage that I call
Home

It’s a tragic feeling to feel as though no one hears you. I’ve made some terrible choices just to feel heard in the past. Powerful poem.

Thank you. I hope you were able to recover from those choices. Sometimes we’re all just a child inside caught in a fit of emotion that high -jacks reason. I know I’ve made my share of poor choices too. 😕
