The frozen army

Silent army on the hills all around us
Armour of snow and frosted bark
Swords of ice and barren branch
To breathe upon them would break the spell
Frozen sentries protecting a secret I long to know
Snow ghosts fight snow snakes on the black icy roads
That road a curved tangled line between silent forms
Glooming over head and it feels like thousands of eyes
Watching us as we speed by their heights
Their hands and fingers reaching out to grab
To touch our vehicle but paused mid action
Statued forms of an endless army of spelled trees
