Brevity

''Brevity is the soul of wit'' Polonius, Act II, Scene II,    Hamlet.

Before I finish
Resuming my thoughts
Evaluating, considering
Ventilating between rhymes
Intent on perfecting each line
Trying to reach the apex,
Yes, the summum

Is a sign of hard work and
Significant determination.

To try to achieve the most with the least
High energy needed
Ending with superfluous words being crushed.

So, thus seeking
One's way to briefness
Using but a page or so
Leaves not much room for blah blah blah.

Out with it,  then
Focus.

Write the needed few
Ink to paper must go
To end it with a flourish.
