My Dear Friend, Fear

Sometimes excitement disguses itself as fear especially when fear equals survival.

I was born into a hindered and limited capacity of love.
Fear stood beside me and comforted me.
I am scared
Held out its hand and embraced me.
I am scared
Hugged me tightly when the storms raged on.
I am scared
Wiped my tears away as the chaos commenced and showed me a safe place to hide.
I am scared
Fear saved me.

Thank you Fear for keeping me alive but now I am ready to live.
Thank you Fear for teaching me but now I am ready for my next lesson.
Thank you Fear for protecting me when I felt no safety but now I can protect myself.
Thank you Fear for rasing me but now I am grown .

I will never forget you and some days I will still need you. But I no longer need you for my survival. The storms cleared long ago. The waters are calm. I am in control. Thank you my dear friend but I am ready to let go. My future awaits. Excitement isn't so scary.
