Heavy Laden
Lost in the scene of
snow branches kissing
frosty image of the
cold wind hissing
cool winter blizzard
blows fierce and lonely
I’d dance in the
dream if I could only…
smoke from a chimney
drifts from a chateau
tall grass stands mournfully
in a meadow
flakes swirl gaily in a
ghostly shimmer
candles in windows
burn with a glimmer
great tree branches
hang low like droopy eyes
framed in the twinkle of
bleak northern skies
pretty rolling snowdrifts
carry them both
evergreen boughs wave
with a cheerful oath
swoosh on freely even
though the cold burns
let your spirit sing of a
heart that yearns
your soul shines most
bright in love’s afterglow
be a snow covered tree
and let it show
