Date Night

Pick her up and share small talk on the ride to see the film
Grab your popcorn and your coke and find your seats inside the theatre
Set the scene somewhere in Sarasota city
Place your characters in some convoluted jeopardy
Make them run around and shoot each other gleefully
And if they fail to save the world from celluloid evil
The lights will still come up as credits roll on by
Start the car and steer somewhere to sit and sing the praises of the film
Sip your coffee or your tea and tell tall tales about your talents
Tell all the lies that daters tell
Somewhere around midnight the sign is given
This date night ends without a bang
No screaming sexual shenanigans tonight just a kiss outside the door
But as kisses go it's pretty good
And you drive on home with a smile on your face
Think of dramas still to come
Lay yourself down and try to dream a happy dream
Another date night fades away
