is it selfish
if I want to spend
more time with you
miss you
as soon as you
walk out the door
plan my whole day
around your absence
to see your smile
after a long day away
to tell you
I love you
even under my breath
so it doesn't sound old
to want to caress
your hands
that lead to your heart
so it always feels warm
when we are together
to hold you
too close
enveloping myself
around this physicality
that slips through
our fingers
always too soon
if that is so
then I wish to be
selfish
for the rest of our lives

Some of us are not small doer's, emotions and all. There is no reason to pull back or stifle what you feel because someone else may see it as too much. In fact, those who do, aren't your people.
Now, in saying that, the double-edged sword is knowing when it's too much for YOU. Knowing when to pull back from the people who will merely use and abuse the wonderful love you have to offer.
