However Love Takes Us (Love Lessons)

However love takes us--

We are born.  We open our lungs.
We scream the "unknown known"
The seedling of unconscious despair --

However love takes us--
Happy and young and backseat carefree
Butterflies in the minutiae of want
The first set of passion's blood wings

However love takes us--
Unhinged and breaks us
From the chrysalis of childhood need
Seeking unbidden love as all about
We weave the shadowy web of greed

However love takes us--
Seduces and awakens us to
The feast or famine Father Time
We regret to inform you
Don't wish to alarm you
Love is deaf, dumb and blind

However love takes us--
It's the myth and the mirth of heaven
Where fear and folly constrain
Two lovers to endorse
                     the inexorable force
Forged by the crucible of pride and pain.

Author's Note
Emotional maturity and a personal evolution--feeling overwhelmed by the courage, strength, wisdom of my mentors. Still trying to be mentally strong for the people I love. Want to stop this addiction to rumination...the only place my poetry has ever come from. Thank you lovely people for stopping by.
