On the Inside
You were looking for someone older who had a sturdy shoulder to cry on
We both knew it was wrong but you needed someone strong to rely on
::Chorus::
Honey I'm just as fragile as you
Inside I'm nothing but sticks and glue
I may be a bear on the outside
I know, and so do you, he was better for you
You made him such a beautiful bride
I had to push you away even though I wanted you to stay... so much
I miss your youth and your style, your wit and your smile, ... your touch
I'm falling apart on the inside
You said that our age was just another page, and I wanted to believe you
But the clocks on the wall, I'm afraid it says it all, sooner or later I'd leave you
I never wanted to pass away leaving you old and gray, and all alone
Don't want you crying as part of you is dying, at my funeral stone
Chorus
I could tell that you cared when you caught him mid stare, made you blush
I knew you wanted to stay but you turned to walk away... in a rush
Chorus
