The Cage
You think your strong
A mountain that can’t be moved
But your empire is revolting
And crashing beneath
You demand silence
But society has a different tone
The beast corrupts the gold
And all becomes silver
Yellow belly defector
Sleep sweat in a cemetery
Rusty knives announce the night
Haunts you again
Though memories flicker
Remember those who lived there
Her eye is bruised
But the beauty never cries
She won’t give you another victory
Rises from the dirt again
Latch is unlocked
And the scorn now hunt
Led by a woman turned specter
Her heart no longer yours
Yellow belly defector
Sleep sweat in a cemetery
Rusty knives announce the night
Haunts you again
Though memories flicker
Remember those who lived there
Caged in the deep
You gaze upon all you lost
Heavy bricks weighed
Friends to keep
Sometimes
Dreams do return
Back when you had teeth
Now none at all
A mountain that can’t be moved
But your empire is revolting
And crashing beneath
You demand silence
But society has a different tone
The beast corrupts the gold
And all becomes silver
Yellow belly defector
Sleep sweat in a cemetery
Rusty knives announce the night
Haunts you again
Though memories flicker
Remember those who lived there
Her eye is bruised
But the beauty never cries
She won’t give you another victory
Rises from the dirt again
Latch is unlocked
And the scorn now hunt
Led by a woman turned specter
Her heart no longer yours
Yellow belly defector
Sleep sweat in a cemetery
Rusty knives announce the night
Haunts you again
Though memories flicker
Remember those who lived there
Caged in the deep
You gaze upon all you lost
Heavy bricks weighed
Friends to keep
Sometimes
Dreams do return
Back when you had teeth
Now none at all
