Relationship Obsession
in modern culture
the notion of ‘relationship’
is an obsession
people talk incessantly
about
‘relationship’
a nearly
constant theme
in mass media
mass media
is not uniting
the world
mass media pretends
to provide an intimately
inter-connected world
but in reality mass media delivers
a simulated
world of shadows
making humanity
anonymous
and lonely
when computers
replace
human contact
and the psychology of culture
replaces
innermost needs
it is not surprising that
there is an obsession with
“relationship"
last bastion of humanity
in a politically correct age
of anonymous androgyny
few realize that
‘relationship’
is an empty center
around which
lonely hunger
forages for warmth
seeking
the hearth of
belonging
public language of ‘relationship’
hollow devoid
of whats truly needed
incessant repetition
betrays modern culture’s
absence of sacred intimacy
intimacy
is a
sacred experience
intimacy never exposes
its secret trust and belonging
to voyeuristic culture
intimacy goes
to the core born in
the soul
the soul
is
reserved
the soul
defiantly shrouds itself
in private self reflection
blotting out neon glare
of self-consuming
vacuous culture
