Aye, the Pirates Life For Me

I'm Captain Thames. I'm a pirate, if only in my mind
Plundering some treasure, all that I can find

I may be slightly addled, a canvas shy of a full sail
But I don't plan to live forever, and dead men tell no tales

I can see you've already measured me for my chains
Yea, you've already convicted me of the crime of playing with half a brain
So I'll batten down the hatches and pour myself some rum
There will be no parley for me, and I'll wait for Jack Ketch to come
I'll dance the hempen jig, with that halter round my neck
And make it to Davy Jones locker, before the ship's a wreck
You'll give no quarter and that's mighty fine with me
but when you get your sea legs about you I'm pretty sure you'll see
A pirates life isn't crazy, I'll measure ye for your suit
Pretty soon you'll be like me, plundering all their loot

Author's Note
This one was just me playing. Had to look up most of the terms to figure out what they meant.

This may not be great poetry, but it was fun to write.
