Have you ever gathered flowers in the frost?
Was spring there in the air when our paths had crossed?
I cannot fall down with the winter sun,
Or find the things that I have lost.
Cannot say you ever were the one
Who would gather flowers in the frost.

I cannot bear to be slain by an angel like thee
While in your eyes, I still see a family.
What was a star with so celestial a gleam
Was but the haze between the waking and the dream.

How ever could this be goodbye?
As flowers in the frost must die
So too must this season end
With naught but the blooms to ravish and rend.

Clouds never gathered like these,
And everyone is so far, so alone
The rain, the fountains, and the trees
All are at one now, searching for home.

And I believe in the Field of Woes.
I believe there, I’ll find what I have lost,
For my poor heart now knows
How to gather flowers in the frost.
