Only Questions Remain
What story led her here to rest cold upon the warm earth?
What loves were won and lost?
Who grieves now?
Whose child does she carry? What life might have been?
How can such beauty come to such cruel ends?
Is there a place to store the beauty and
sadness that remains?

After reading a news account of a murder nearby, these questions came to mind. I wondered if the perpetrator had any of these questions.

Questions like that always open my mind for deeper understanding than just what is displayed upon the surface. Each question to me is a poem within itself.
