Cold and Lonely

I'm cold and I'm lonely
And I'm sinking fast
Ain't got a future
but I sure gotta past
And there ain't no body crying
or pining for me to come home
I'm to tired to run
To old to roam

I been sitting on this bar stool
Nigh on twenty years
Drowning my sorrows
In tequila and beers
It sucks being an old man
I hurt most every day
Pains never in the same place
But they won't go away

I may be an old man
But I ain't dead yet
And if I live to be a hundred
I won't ever forget
A man that don't believe in nothing
He ain't no man at all
I believe I'll have another
And one more before last call

I'm cold and I'm lonely
And I'm sinking fast
Ain't got a future
but I sure gotta past
And there ain't no body crying
or pining for me to come home
I'm to tired to run
To old to roam

Author's Note
This song was part of a musical I was writing called "Get a Life Corner" about life in a bar. Shelved it as I didn't think it would fly today. The character was an old black man singing the blues.
