psalm 10

___of Andrew___
for the forgotten of the earth

1 for thus saith the Lord in Zion,
of the tribe of judah, Lion:

I will give you rest.
2 come to Me, if, in your hunger,
you can bear your lack no longer;
put Me to the test.

3 when your thirst becomes your slaughter,
I will give you Living Water,
that you no more thirst.
4 I will break the bonds of prison,
e'en if you commit high treason;
Judgment Mine is First.

5 when your loins, stark naked, beg bread,
I will cover you in good stead;
I will hide your shame.
6 sick as death, in passions reeling,
learn to trust Me for your healing:
I restore the lame.

7 God of Mercy and of Favour,
yet in vain Your children labour,
when we miss the point.
8 teach us daily how to practise
mercy, love, and tireless justice;
us with peace anoint.
