Beyond Hope
into the mountains in between
the valley spreading out so green
and the prairies far beyond
it takes 10 hours of driving on
the highway threading through
gaps and passes, every view
is breathtaking, soothing mind,
mountains do this all the time
the Coquihalla, in the sky
is a road that's very high
snow in winter, spring and fall
while passing over nature's wall
between the ocean and the plain,
on the far side much less rain
in the middle BC's dry
Okanagan...monsters lie
under water in the lake
bridges floating as they take
97 going north
with much beauty coming forth
from Kelowna on and on
to the far beyond beyond
North Vancouver on the coast
the place I live and love the most

Hope is a town in British Columbia where the Fraser Valley ends going east and the drive through the mountains begins...97 is the north/south highway that becomes the Alaska Highway..listen with headphones
