[ On Poetry ] Pubism

I don't know why, but this reminds me of a conversation I've had a few times over the years; Averages.  For every average person, who feels just average, remember that that's where the majority hover.  Thus not alone.
Whereas the extreme ones of us; for every awesome specimen, there's an opposite, despicable one holding down the bottom rung.
So we should at least revel in being average as a minimum.  There's always worse.
(The darts thing, eventually you hit a bullseye)

It's an interesting association, especially given how the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th stanzas end - increase, diminish, goes both ways. I very much appreciate the feedback, Styxian. Thank you.

Feels authentically like an inner monologue/self-talk. Really liked the effects words like "tenfold" and "capacity" have placed at the end of the stanza, it gives the poem momentum which is really cool

Thank you, ascarborough. I often narrate write from the perspective an individual addressing everyone reading, which often results in sort of a one man show. Like a TED Talk. I'm glad to hear that my choice of wording is making an impact. Appreciated!

Interesting write JB. It makes me think of practicing when others are not around so as to improve one's skill then stand out in the crowd when given the opportunity.

It makes me think of Young Frankenstein when Gene Wilder turns his back and the policeman tiptoes up to the board! LOL
