mouth breather

the years have done you poorly
formulating sentence structures
is a syntax too complex, entertainment free,
too much a sin to tax. Respiring
thickly, mucosa infected, you're green with
envy, not cash, awarded to throw at
the problem. Unhinged jaw slacklining
'tween the no stealing from mom and pop stores,
and buying your wardrobe from slave traders;
THEY are what stock the shelves, the guns,
frontline battling rams to border the whor[d]e,
no apologies, we eat our wages turning
your magazine pages in back alley flick
of the wrists.
every boy, girl, human, slammed and
enthrusted in bedazzled bars.
all those luxury cars that you claim are
worth all my scars. all the tied to the train tracks,
those track marks, uncapped, dropped, wasted.
no city ever sleeps, you're playing cards with
four armed dealers, trippy hippie healers, well
at least they're alive!
look and learn, the hook line, the left swing,
this shouldn't be a boxing ring, where you're stuck
beneath the want and the wanted.
so close your mouth. breathe through that pretty nose.
be grateful you woke up today.
