Hibernation is Underrated

hibernation is underrated
buried deep
in an igloo of blankets
hiding from the cold,
my life, my job,
all the hate in the world

cocooned in my queen size cave
I'm not coming out
maybe I'll see you in spring
just look for the signs
as our hearts begin to sing
and love grows after the snow

don't try and wake me
I'm a grizzly with a sore tooth
a wolf caught in a trap
a bull seeing red

did you...
make coffee?

as I poke a toe out of my hole
checking the cold
it would seem
springtime begins
with the aroma of coffee in the air
