Forlorn again

Forlorn again

I can feel you slipping away from me as the night gives way to dawn, I am left alone again, sad and so forlorn

Will you return another night, I haven't really got a clue, I can't drag you into my dreams, the choice is up to you

All I can do is try to sleep, then in my dream go to our meeting place, then wander around hoping, I get to see your face

Dreams are not a guarantee, you just hope with all your heart, that you will see your dream girl again, once you are apart

Once the dawn has taken her across the void, when you wake up all alone, all you have is wishes and poems on your phone

So if I see you again in my dreams, I will kiss and hold you tight, grateful that you've come to me on this dark and lonely night

Sometimes I wish for foolish things, things I know just can't be right, like the Sun will set forever so I can dream for a eternal night

Then I wouldn't have to say goodbye at the rising of the dawn, I'd dream and be forever happy, instead of alone and all forlorn...again
