The Ideal

there is a
letdown
when you reach the end of a game

(even if you won)

life
is the
infinite game

the ideal

a goal

never to be
achieved

something
to aspire to

something
to journey toward

the paradox

as you approach
the ideal
it recedes

because

as you approach

your ability to redefine the ideal
becomes more sophisticated

you don’t have to reach the goal
aspire to it move towards it

persist

life
is the
infinite game

it is challenging

it doesn’t matter
if the goal recedes
(which it will)

it simply means

the game
doesn’t have
an end

life
is the
infinite game

the ideal
