Glass Barbarian

All I have ever done in my life is save my family
Stepping between my mother and his fist
Wiping the blood from her face
Finding a stool to reach the bandaids to cover the damage
I learned how to hide my brother well
So that when they went on rampages
My body would be the first punching bag
I remember the fists against my stomach
When I fought my little sisters bullies
I have always been broken... Always
My family was my duty to protect and rescue
My only purpose was to be useful
I have always put them before myself
Is it true selflessness if that is just how you are?
How do you stop being a human shield...
When your body cannot take it anymore...
It's kind of funny how easy it would be to kill me
I am but a glass barbarian now...
