Car Love Poem - Moaning Myrtle

My car is named Myrtle
Yeah, I named my car
I always do
Bought her off the showroom floor
Yep, A 2004 Saturn Vue

Named her after a character from Potter
She moaned when I turned her wheel
They kept saying they fixed it
Never did...
It was no big deal

She took me to work every day
She took me home every night
Geared to sprint me out of the lot
Always made it home before dusk's light

I retired and she became my gopher vehicle
You know, go for this, go for who knows what
Couple thousand trips to the grocery
Trips to the Hardware store, things like that

You'd never know her age by looking at her
Oh sure, she needs a touch-up here and there
She is running a little loud at the moment
But she still has some mileage to spare

I'd like to take her out and buy her new shoes
But wheels and tires cost more than I can afford
Still, she needs a physical at her age
And she'll make it to the mechanic,
You have my word

17 years and she's still running
I guess I'll drive her till she falls apart
I've had lots of cars before her
But this one has a piece of my heart

Author's Note
I've had cars that were more collectible, cars that were more desirable, but I've never had a car that lasted this long. You have something that sticks around for 17 years you kinda grow attached to it.. lol
