Right to the heart, right ??

Oh, it's so complicated. The tactile sense of my dress, pearls, jewelry; the physical sense of my body walking in low heals; all the other senses alive; and jealousy, I want to be this person. The poem makes me feel alive, which seems so much bigger that what words can describe.

I heard somewhere recently that male desire, after a certain point--say, when the relationship matures--is dependent on inhabiting a place "peace" with the woman, hence the biblical prohibition against contentious-ness.
This poem gets at the feeling of peace.

When a relationship matures I believe you see what
LOVE really is .... The crash boom psycho lust  bonanza changes.  Then you step into affection and intimacy that is phenomenal.
I've written about this quite a bit as I am long into a marriage that still feels new.  We're still learning about each other and that's the glue.
