Black
Even in the flowers of spring,
I can follow the sorrow -
Like melting ice, in reverse
To the place where my face
Was
Frost bitten
smitten
with
Sadness
All unexpressed
and
hardly felt.
My dad died then
&
he said goodbye
on
a
bitter wind
in
Weeping ice sickles
in trickles
like
heart beat metronomes
over
Snow sleet
&
Slates of silence
Slates of time -
Minutes hours:
I unraveled and time traveled
following the ice to something nice
but all there was
was
dead flowers.
And now…
And now…
Tears encapsulated in cyclical movements eclipsing the black of my alien eyes
with
deeper
Black.

You have so many analogies and metaphors throughout to have one pondering for sure. Obscurity to see what is really in front of one's eyes is never possible. We seem to choose as humans to bury or condemn what we cannot explain, and I say that in the vaguest to comprehend
Is the professor who we see teaching in front of the classroom, more enlightening with his knowledge than when if he sits at his computer and cruise child porn sites at night.
I used that hypothesis regarding, there is never light in anyone, other than your deity.
In the comparison to black/dark, most people, not all tend to hide that light giving way to excuses as the second half of their persona’s duality. In my personal experience, in addition, with interacting with mental patients or society in general. I would rather a person who has a darkened sense of reality. I justify that concept with the belief, that perception becomes a way to understand, a clarification of who they are, or what they truly stand for, therefore, when he/she do finally step in light it is not deceptive or hypocritical. Then having someone such as that professor who smiles with gifts to edify, only to escape to the dark to fester what the sicken mind cannot do in the light in it criminal element
This reply is from how I view black... just remembers black absorbs light and when once needs to find the passage to go forward, the light usually is what needs to be turned on. We came through the passage from the gift of a womb, encased in darkness and nourishment to be born into the light with the first cries of prestigious knowledge.
There was dark and void upon the earth in the beginning of time… and what did the Creator say... let there be...
A really enjoy when I can give credence to your contemplations
Enjoy your Wednesday (Hump Day)

I think that darkness can be used as an application of enlightenment, in varying capacities.
I also think that black is white and white is black.
I think that there is a quantum state that is something akin to pure consciousness...
I so very deeply appreciate your thought provoking and erudite words, SKC, and I concur with Zazzles.
My deepest gratitude, and I wish you a productive Thursday, which sees you embraced by felicity and synchronicity in the purest and most beautiful forms.

I think you may be on to something extraordinary
my Intellectual Prophesier..
As I will always say, your mind is a wonder within itself and any energy which comes forth of its perception rather spoken in its darken element, white element, or clarified in a broaden range found in those shades of gray.. it is truly a gift to the readers eyes.
Enjoy your evening and have a prosperous Thursday..

C , I felt the magnitude in which it was intended in this heartfelt piece.
Heavy and ethereal all of it.
Dark yes, and black, kitty encompassed
and laid it all out. Perhaps pondering and deep silence is overrated in that it keeps us solemn and skeptical.
At any rate this peace is palpable.
Thanks for sharing
Always your sis
Jackie 🤗♥️🌹🧙♀️

This makes me want to hug you in deep solidarity of the known painful ache of losing a father... It's something that I struggle with, still, even years after his passing. I was a daddy's girl and his absence left a big painful hole.... Needless to say, I felt your poem, immediately and immensely.
This piece is more than it's first read, though.... As your abilities to incorporate so much enormous space of emotional outpouring into your writes, makes for a cornucopia of reactions, imo... I often wonder why you started using only the 'shadows' theme tag? .... To me abstract and fluid free verse is extremely attractive 'catnip' to my mind's eye and my own poetic sensibilities, yet my curiosity at your intended meanings, also permeates my thoughts....I can't lie... lol... Sometimes I wish that I could get a better clue, via your theme selections.... as opposed to my own opinions... that are bound to be shaded and influenced by my own life's lens.....
Just a random thought that crept in!
Terrifically penned ink, my dear friend 🙏🏻
You always leave me better, for having read your poetry...
Warmest wishes of love and happiness,

Man I love your words.
...
Thank you B.
I do feel very much connected to you, and I...
This is something very special to me.
I honestly never imagined I would have this sort of connection to you.
(I think part of this connection is being able to say that to you. haha)
I know I sound sentimental to some degree but I think it is because I always feel like I am goin to die or something and because I have seen so many people die.
Like strait up die in a ditch or get gunned down in the street... and I remember their dreams...
(I just had an idea for a write...)
You have made me think big time!
Thank you ma dear....

dearest Cipher you're so beautiful
I'm sorry for your great loss
I too lost my parents young
sometimes picking up the phone to call
then realizing I couldn't I was alone...
this is a heartbreaking write
so beautifully written
I feel your soul here...

I wanted you to know the way you describe your surroundings at that time in this piece is absolutely real. I can actually picture the kitchen where my parents lived on any cold windy overcast day. This piece is very very vivid like a movie frames clicking one after the other.
I adore your mind brother♥️
