a see through veneer

Hiding behind
those masks you cling
shines a reality
where honesty sings
Keen and clever
you shy away
confessional endeavor
'twas not a forte
Push, ignites to shove
innocence on full display
time presses, it's seconds bided
while answers wilt, shaded gray
Motives are lean
as are concrete truths
sharing deep confessions
seeds— to fully rooted proof(s)
Pretense conforms
with abundant ease
when the verdict's in the pudding,
stinking of ripened decay

Purest revelation lie(s)
as a sort of 'window-dressing'—

A tortured display.
