Image for the poem greed

greed

dark linger inside my thoughts
while I climb the walls of my mind
silently escalating need
too intense I step back
lest I shine too brightly with my bleak

cruel fate to be divinely cursed
grateful epiphany I am different
sinister offerings rise like incense
he that was and is revealed himself as darkness
it's no different with me

a dark descendant of the most high
his nature multi faceted
fickle grace is that I fear
I am proud but not too proud
knowing my place in the universe

fire proceeds from my tongue
ashes on the wind my words spread
burning the scoffer

whose coffers are more important
diligent greed have your way
I will relent
that it may be well with me
